Sidehand

End User Licence Agreement

Version 1.0 · 10 September 2026

The short version. Sidehand is one person’s game. You get a personal licence to play it on your own devices. You do not get to resell it, take it apart, or pass it off as yours. It is offered as it is, with no promise that it is bug-free: it is a beta, and it says so.

The full text below is what actually applies. Nothing in it removes rights the law gives you as a consumer.

This Agreement is between you and Nicolas Hoffmann, an individual developer based in France (“the Developer”), and covers the game Sidehand in every form it is distributed: the Android application com.sidehand.game, the Windows build, and any beta or test build, together with its artwork, music, text and updates (“the Game”).

By installing or playing the Game you accept this Agreement. If you do not accept it, do not install the Game, and uninstall it if you already have.

1The licence you are granted

The Developer grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and play the Game on devices you own or control, for your own private, non-commercial use.

The Game is licensed, not sold. All rights not expressly granted here are reserved by the Developer.

2What you may not do

Recording, streaming and video content of your own play is expressly allowed, including monetised videos, provided the Game is identified by name and the content is your own commentary or performance rather than a redistribution of the Game itself.

3Ownership

The Game, and all intellectual property rights in it, belong to the Developer, except for third-party components used under their own licences: the Godot Engine (MIT), the Cinzel typeface (SIL OFL 1.1, © Natanael Gama), and sound effects by Kenney (CC0). Those notices travel with every copy of the Game and are reachable inside it; see the Legal Notice.

4Beta software

The Game is currently a beta. It may contain defects, it may lose saved progress, and its content and balance may change or be removed between versions. Beta builds are provided so that problems can be found. No promise is made that any feature present today will be present at release.

5Your data

The Game collects no personal data and makes no network requests. Progress and settings are stored locally on your device and are deleted when you uninstall. The beta feedback panel assembles a text summary only when you press its button, and hands it to you to send or not, as you choose. The full description is in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of this Agreement.

6No real-money gambling

The Game contains simulated poker played for in-game chips that have no monetary value, cannot be bought, cannot be sold, and cannot be exchanged for anything of value. There is no real-money gambling in the Game and no way to spend money inside it. Success in the Game does not imply success at real-money gambling.

7No warranty

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Game is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. The Developer does not warrant that the Game will be uninterrupted, error-free, or compatible with any particular device.

8Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Developer is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for lost data or lost progress, arising out of the use of or inability to use the Game. The Developer’s total liability under this Agreement is limited to the amount you paid for the Game, or, where the Game was supplied free of charge, to zero.

Nothing in this Agreement excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded, including the statutory guarantees owed to consumers under French and European consumer law, which apply regardless of this section.

9Termination

This licence ends automatically if you breach it. You may end it at any time by uninstalling the Game. Sections 3, 7, 8 and 10 survive termination.

10Governing law

This Agreement is governed by French law. Where you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory rules of the law of your country of residence, and you may bring proceedings in the courts of that country.

11Store terms also apply

If you obtained the Game from Google Play, Steam, or another storefront, that storefront’s own terms apply to the transaction and to refunds. Where a storefront’s terms conflict with this Agreement in respect of the transaction, the storefront’s terms prevail for that purpose.

12Changes and contact

This Agreement may be updated for future versions of the Game. The version in force is the one published here on the date you install that version, and the date at the top of this page is when it last changed.
